Crater Lake 3D simulations and animations for the National Park Service created while working for Great Divide Pictures/High Noon Entertainment.

I was responsible for everything here, except the edit and some help early on with the mountain model and texture (mainly for time/scheduling reasons). I collected the Digital Elevation Data and initial data for the current Crater Lake area and a nearby mountain that was then combined to create the volcano. After the mountain terrain was built, I cleaned up the textures and prepared the mountain for collapse. I used Cinema 4D with a couple plugins for the collapse simulation (Nitro 4D) and smoke simulations (TFD). After terrabytes of simulation data and countless render passes, this project was completed in a little over a year.
